Posta Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Posta is an app for learning Argentine Spanish. It is run by PICAWAVE, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the app, and how to delete your data.
Questions: contact@picawave.com
What we collect
Your account
- Email address and password (the password is stored hashed; we never see it).
- The name you choose to show in the app, and your time zone (so your streak and reminders follow your day).
Your learning
- Your progress: lessons finished, answers you give, words you've practiced, mistakes, and your streak.
- How the lessons perform (for example, which exercises were hard), so we can improve the course.
Hablar (speaking practice)
- When you talk with Pancho, we record your voice, turn it into text, and keep the transcript of the conversation and the feedback you got.
- Voice recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days. Transcripts stay with your account until you delete it.
Purchases
- If you subscribe, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment. We never see your card details. We receive whether your subscription is active, its plan and its renewal date.
Notifications
- If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can send practice reminders.
On your device only
- Your answers to the first-time setup questions (your goal, level and daily time) are stored on your phone.
We do not use advertising, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Why we use it
- To run your account and save your progress across devices.
- To build your lessons and reviews around what you know.
- To give you speaking practice and feedback in Hablar.
- To check your subscription and unlock Premium.
- To send reminders you asked for.
- To fix problems and improve the course.
Who helps us run Posta
We share data only with the services that make the app work, and only what each one needs:
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and file storage | Your account, progress, transcripts and recordings |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Pancho's replies, feedback and explanations | The text of your Hablar conversations and answers |
| ElevenLabs | Turns your voice into text, and Pancho's voice | Your voice recordings (Hablar) |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscriptions | Your Posta user ID (not your email) and your purchase status |
| Apple / Google | Payments and push notifications | Purchase details, and your device's push token |
These providers process data on our behalf and may store it in the United States or other countries.
How long we keep it
- Voice recordings: 30 days.
- Everything else: for as long as you have an account.
- When you delete your account, we delete your data right away. Some copies may remain in backups for a short time before they are overwritten.
Deleting your account
In the app, tap your picture on the home screen, then Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, progress, Hablar transcripts and recordings.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
You can also ask us to delete your data by writing to contact@picawave.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Write to contact@picawave.com and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Posta is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll let you know in the app.
